Altje Macy, PE, LEED AP

Project Manager/Senior Water Resources Engineer

Altje has been with Meliora since 2008 and has both grown with the firm and been instrumental in its positioning as a leader in green civil engineering. A registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and Delaware, she specializes in sustainable water management strategies, environmental science and policy, green stormwater infrastructure design, and watershed analysis. Her experience extends to water resources master planning, sustainable site and stormwater design, project management, and public outreach and engagement for work involving school and university campuses, parks, public spaces, and streetscapes.

Originally from upstate New York, Altje earned a bachelor's degree in environmental science from Hawai’i Pacific University, followed by a master's degree in environmental policy from Bard College. Her master’s thesis took her to Oaxaca, Mexico, where she lived and became fluent in Spanish while conducting surveys throughout the city on waterborne illness and the cost of domestic water decontamination.

Altje is currently a Green Infrastructure Foundation board member, and a member of the Philadelphia Living Building Collaborative. When she isn’t working or volunteering, she likes to travel, spend quality time with her family, dog, and chickens, and kick back lakeside in the Adirondacks.
